A new conjoint position between the Department of Health and the University of Tasmania is available with responsibility for leading the design, implementation, and evaluation of the Allied Health Rural Generalist (AHRG) Pathway in Tasmania. 

Under the direct supervision of an experienced PHYSIOTHERAPIST, the PHYSIOTHERAPIST (AHP1) will contribute to the delivery of a comprehensive and integrated range of health services, appropriate to the needs of the local community.  To achieve this, the PHYSIOTHERAPIST works as a member of a multi- professional team, including health professionals and service providers from other sectors, and utilises a combination of preventative, early intervention, treatment/therapy and evaluation approaches.

This role is a project/clinical role that will aim to scope, develop, implement and embed an Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist (AMP), primary contact physiotherapy service in the Emergency Department (E.D) at Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW).The Grade 3 Physiotherapist will be responsible for providing advanced assessment and expert clinical management of patients presenting with musculoskeletal complaints (e.g. sprains, fractures, back pain) either autonomously, or in consultation with E.D medical staff.
