Behaviour Zen

Dolly Bhargava is a Speech Pathologist with a Masters in Special Education. She has 17 years of experience in providing positive, realistic and productive solutions to individuals with a range of disabilities in early childhood, school, family homes, prisons, accommodation and community settings. She has authored and developed a number of insightful books and apps, including America's National Parenting Publications Award Winner 'Taking CHARGE of my Rainbow of Emotions'. She has recently developed an innovative App and Book Series, 'Behaviour Zen'. Behaviour Zen aims to systematically guide educators, parents and professionals to assess, prevent, manage challenging emotional and behavioural responses in individuals with Anxiety Disorders, Conduct Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Emotional Regulation Skills in Individuals with Anxious, Oppositional and Agressive Behaviours

This practical and interactive workshop will address the following:

Flinders University

As part of Flinders Universities committment to support clinical supervisors in the health workplace, Flinders NT is delivering a series of free webinars.. Each webinar will provide clinical supervisors with tools to enhance the learning experiences of your learners and junior staff. Nursing, medical and allied health practitioners will all find the material engaging and relevant. The webinars will be delivered by experienced academics Dr Narelle Campbell and Dr Helen Wozniak, and are based on their previously successful face to face supervision workshops. 

Webinar 1: Planning workplace learning

Overview: In this session we focus on how to prepare your workplace and learners to maximise their placement learning experiences. You will learn about two orientation activities that add value to your supervision experiences. The webinar is interactive and provides opportunities to try the strategies.

Learning outcomes: At the end of this session you will be able to:

  • Prepare the workplace for the learner
  • Plan an orientation package for the learner
  • Appreciate how an educational history assists with planning
  • Be able to negotiate a learning plan with a learner
Prior Registration essential: Participant numbers are limited so register now for through the registration link. After registration you will receive a confirmation email with information about joining the webinar. There will be a one hour follow up webinar two weeks later where you will review and discuss your experience of creating a learning plan. Registration information for the follow up session will provided at the conclusion of the first session. If you register but discover you are unable to attend: Please cancel your registration as soon as possible so a place becomes available for another participant. Prior to attending the webinar:
  • Complete the brief pre-webinar self-assessment survey (part of the registration process)
  • Read the attached information about webinars: It summarises the webinar environment and provides the computer requirements. The best experience is achieved if you attend individually from your computer using a headset and a hardwired internet connection. Wireless connections can be problematic for webinar participants. We suggest you log in to the session 10-15 mins prior to the start time to assist you to familiarize yourself with the interface and try out your speakers, how to use the chat box etc.
