A Framework for the Categorisation of the Australian Health Professional Workforce

Description: (July 2007) The authors take a pragmatic view of how the term 'allied health' is used in the Australian context. From this study, SARRAH proposes a framework to classify the Australian Health Workforce which gives clear descriptions for inclusion and exclusions as allied health, medical, nursing, oral health, public health and clinical support health professions. The intent is to provide clear descriptors of groups of professions to enable workforce planning for the "allied health" professions.
