The Postgraduate Scholarship is aimed at allied health professionals who practise in Australia.  When the Scholarship is oversubscribed rurality may be used as a ranking tool.

For the purposes of the scholarship selection process ‘rural/remote’ will be measured by the Australian Standard Classification Remoteness Areas (ASGC-RA) Allied Health professionals residing in all 5 ASGC-RA categories will be eligible for the selection process:

Category
ASGC-RA
Major Cities
1
Inner Regional
2
Outer Regional
3
Remote
4
Very Remote
5

In determining rurality for the Postgraduate Scholarship the Australian Government acknowledges that universities within Tasmania and the Northern Territory do not provide allied health courses. For the purposes of this scholarship program, all of the Northern Territory and Tasmania will be considered eligible and equivalent to at least  ASGC-RA 3.

Health Workforce Queensland have a public search engine that identifies ASGC-RA classification.
