Scholarships
Funded through the Department of Health and Ageing CHANGES TO SCHOLARSHIPS
Scholarships will continue to be awarded for eligible undergraduate and graduate entry studies leading to clinical practice; professional development activities including conferences, short courses and formal postgraduate study; and clinical placements. SARRAH currently administers the scholarships that provide support to allied health students and professionals only. Nursing students and professionals need to contact the Royal College of Nursing, Australia (RCNA) for information about scholarships and support available for the nursing profession. Allied Health Clinical Placement Scholarship Scheme (AHCPSS) Scholarships for students to undertake clinical placements in an Australian rural or remote community. Provides funding to assist allied health students with meeting the cost of return travel to and from the clinical placement locations, accommodation costs and living expenses. The scholarships will also contribute towards the cost of supervisory and community contact honorariums. The scholarships are not bonded and there is one funding round per year. Australian Rural and Remote Health Professional Scholarship Scheme (ARRHPS) Postgraduate scholarships for qualified clinical health professionals. Provides funding to assist qualified allied health professionals living and working in rural and remote Australia to undertake continuing professional development activities. These postgraduate activities can include short courses, individual clinical placements to enhance and expand on clinical skills, formal tertiary postgraduate qualifications and attendance at relevant professional conferences. There is one funding round per year. Rural Allied Health Undergraduate Scholarship Scheme (RAHUS) Entry level scholarship scheme for allied health and oral health students. Provides a scholarship of $10,000 per annum for students of rural background undertaking eligible accredited entry level allied health and oral health courses at Australian Universities.
