Allied Health Undergraduate (Entry - Level) Stream 

INTRODUCTION  
 
The Australian Government aims to consolidate and build on workforce programs to ensure they better align with, and are able to respond to, the needs of health professionals to train and practice, particularly in clinical areas and locations of particular need.
 
The Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship and Support Scheme (NAHSSS) Guidelines form the basis for administration of a broad range of study and professional development support arrangements for nursing and allied health professionals. 

OBJECTIVES
 
The objectives of the consolidated NAHSSS are to:

• Increase the health workforce by facilitating the entry of jobseekers and youths interested in pursuing a career in nursing or the allied health professions;
• Facilitate the continued professional development of nurses and allied health professionals; and
• Encourage the pursuit of a health career in both geographic areas and professions where there are shortages.
