Training and SupportSARRAH as part of its goal to provide support to the rural and remote allied health workforce seeks to provide or broker access to:
Transition to Remote and Rural PracticeThe Supporting the Transition of Allied Health Professionals to Remote & Rural Practice project is an education resource to support allied health professionals on entry to remote and rural practice.. The training package provides an online resource to support allied health professionals transitioning to rural and remote practice. The resource includes a Transition Toolkit and several learning modules. The Transition Toolkit include detailed information, and a selection of resources and support pathways around: the Rural and Remote Context; Rural and Remote Practice; Skills and Competencies; and, Orientation, Development and Support. It also includes additional links and resources, as well as transition stories from others working in remote and rural settings. A total of five Learning Modules have been developed, focusing on key issues for remote and rural practice, including: Self Care; Confidentiality and Professional Boundaries; Cultural Safety; Translation Evidence Based Practice; and Primary Health Care. The resource fills the gaps between training and the realities remote and rural practice. It intended to supplement university training and local orientation processes, and to increase the retention of allied health professionals in remote and rural areas.
