Education and Early Childhood Development

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development in Victoria have recently announced several scholarship and incentive schemes for allied health professionals working in early childhood intervention in rural Victoria. Additional schemes will be launched in 2009.

Scholarships and Incentives offered by the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development include

  • Early Childhood Intervention Rural Incentive Scheme - aims to support professionals who have recently commenced employment in a rural early childhood intervention service. Successful applicants will receive payments totaling $6,000 and will be eligible to apply for the Early Childhood Intervention Professional Support Scheme which will be available in 2009.
  • Early Childhood Intervention New Graduate Incentive Scheme - aims to support recently graduated professionals (2007 or 2008) who have commenced employment in an early childhood intervention service in Victoria. Successful applicants will receive payments totaling $6,000 and will be eligible for the Early Childhood Intervention Professional Support Scheme which will be available in 2009.
  • Early Childhood Intervention Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme - aims to support current early childhood intervention professionals commencing relevant postgraduate study. The financial support provided through the scholarship program aims to assist recipients to meet the costs associated with postgraduate study. The level of funding for Early Childhood Intervention Postgraduate Scholarships will vary according to the level of qualification being attained.

  • Dieticians
  • Early Childhood Teachers
  • Physiotherapists
  • Psychologists
  • Occupational Therapists
  • Speech Pathologists
  • Social Workers
  • Parent Advisor for Hearing Impaired
